Staff and service users at Hightown Housing Association’s learning disability services in Berkshire came out in full force for their first music festival.
The event was held at Ariadni, a specialist learning disability service in Bracknell, last month. More than 50 staff and service users attended the event which was organised to bring service users from different care and support schemes together for a day of fun, food and fantastic entertainment.
The day featured a variety of activities including music, drumming and dancing. A particular highlight was the ever-popular djembe, an African drum played with bare hands, which was enjoyed by service users and staff alike.
The DJ also played crowd favourites which saw attendees tapping their feet away on the dance floor. The venue was beautifully decorated, and featured a Mick Jagger cardboard cutout which proved popular with service users.
Francis Zvoma, Hightown’s head of care and supported housing – regulated services, said: “It was brilliant to see so many of our service users in one place and enjoying themselves.
“This is credit to the hard work of managers for organising this event and for all the staff for supporting everyone to attend. Thank you to all the Berkshire and Wycombe staff who ensured the service users had a memorable day.”
