The draw for the inital rounds of the Cawston Press National Village Cup cricket competition has taken place.
The National Village Cup is inextricably linked with the English summer, and has been ever since its conception in 1972.
Administered by The Cricketer, this summer-long knockout tournament celebrates the grassroots game at its rural heart.It is the biggest amateur cricket competition in the world and sees in excess of 400 clubs from all corners of England, Scotland and Wales battle for the chance to ‘live the dream’ by playing on the hallowed turf in a showcase Lord’s final.In the first round, which is set to take place on ASpril 26, Emmbrook and Bearwood Cricket Club have been drawn away to Goring on Thames.
In the second round on May 10, the winners will face a home tie versus the winners of the Binfield v Sonning tie.
