WORK on a new housing development in Shinfield is progressing, with almost a quarter of homes built.
Once complete, Shinfield Meadows will house 672 homes, of which 124 are deemed affordable through rent or shared ownership. It is being created by the Vistry Group’s brands Bovis Homes and Linden Homes.
The current stage is for 204 homes – 125 from Bovis and 79 from Linden. Forty nine of these are ready to be occupied, with the remainder expected to come on stream next year. Linden has a mixture of two- and four-bed homes, and Bovis four- and five-bed.
Alix Laflin, marketing manager at Vistry Thames Valley, said: “We are nearing a notable milestone in the latest phases at Shinfield Meadows with nearly a quarter of the homes now completed and people moved in. As construction progresses apace, we have been able to welcome new residents on to what is already an established neighbourhood.
“This is a very popular location which has been evidenced by the consistently strong sales we have experienced at both the Bovis Homes and Linden Homes developments. This high level of interest has seen us already sell 69 of the 167 private homes for sale within these phases.”

The project started in 2017, and is due to be completed next year.
