The doors have opened for the latest restaurant to appear in Wokingham town centre.
The official opening of Lucky’s Diner in Elms Walk took place last night (Monday), with deputy borough mayor, Cllr Carol Jewell, on hand to perform a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Woodley-based Swapna Inuganti and her husband Venu Popuri are the franchise owners.
For the self-confessed foodies, the restaurant represents their first venture into the hospitality sector.
Swapna told Wokingham Today: “We chose Lucky’s because the offering was very appealing, and it brings something new to the town.”
The predominantly Lancashire-based operation opened its first restaurant in Oldham in 2018. Wokingham is its eighth outlet, and only the second outside the north west.
Its offering is described as ‘comfort food with a twist’, with the menu featuring burgers, thick shakes and desserts – amount others.
Several other restaurants are also expected to open in the coming months, including Turkish restaurant Opuz, also in Elms Walk.
