The latest business to call Wokingham home opened its doors for the first time late last month.
Safa Superstore in Peach Street occupies a prominent position that was most recently home to Anytime Fitness gym.
In the past, the unit was home to Halfords and Blockbuster Video.
Safa Superstore promises a Halal butchers’, fresh and frozen produce including fruits, international foods and groceries, with a focus on the south Asian sector.
Director Isfahan Ahmed told Wokingham Today: “We have been in this business before in Reading, and we wanted to do it again.
“The growing community in Wokingham has inspired us to open our business here.
He added that there is a large number of products that come to the market every month.
“Before we opened, you’d have to go to places like Reading, Slough and even west London if you wanted to find some of the products we have here.
“We focus on the south Asian market but we have something for everyone, including fresh, exotic fruits and fresh meat.
“I think the exotic fruits and vegetables we have are pretty special, because there’s a lot here that you can’t get from other supermarkets in town.”
