The demolition of a large office building in Bracknell continues to clear the way for a new industrial warehouse.
RSA House in Western Road is a three-storey office building that was previously occupied by the RSA cybersecurity business.
But the building has been vacant since the American company chose to close the UK headquarters in Bracknell in March 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic.
The partly demolished building stands near the roundabout junction with Wokingham Road and Moorland Avenue to the west of the town.
The photos were taken by drone operator Styles Views after a previous visit to the site last December.
At the time, the photos showed part of the offices being torn at, exposing the superstructure of the building.
Since then, one side of RSA House has been completely demolished, with the superstructure destroyed and bricks being reduced to rubble.
Lewis Styles, the Styles Views drone operator, said: “Much of what we saw last time is now reduced to piles of brick and stone, but we can see what was one of the offices from a whole new angle, it looks like a movie set.
“Unfortunately, the wind was too strong to go too high to really get an idea of how much has changed, I’ll leave that for next time. ”
One of the photos shows two demolition vehicles on the site.
The demolition of RSA House is part of a project by asset management company Angle Property to replace it with a modern warehouse building to be used for the research and development of products or industrial processes.
The original plan for this was submitted in 2022 and approved in October 2023.
Justifying the project at the time, a planning agent from Montagu Evans wrote: “The proposals will deliver new, modern and high-quality employment floorspace in a location where this is an identified need.
“As a result of this, new job and investment opportunities will be generated, which will benefit the local economy substantially, especially in comparison to the existing output of the existing redundant building, which has been vacant for a considerable amount of time.”
A series of follow-up applications have been submitted since then, with details relating to the appearance and parking layout being approved on December 18, 2025.
You can view the approved plans for the replacement building by typing application reference 22/00879/FUL into Bracknell council’s planning portal, and the details of the appearance and parking layout using reference 25/00520/FUL.
RSA House was previously subject to plans to convert it into 51-53 apartments, which were submitted in May and December 2024 but never enacted.
