A pacifist Remembrance vigil is being held in Howard Palmer Gardens, Wokingham, on Sunday (November 9).
Pacifist David Chapman of Wokingham, said: “All are welcome. It will be a simple event, between noon and 1pm.
“There will be periods of silence to reflect upon humanity’s need to move beyond believing that physical and emotional violence will ever resolve conflict and bring about lasting peace among nations and individuals.”
A white poppy wreath will be laid in memory of all people who have died in all wars, on all sides, throughout history and in current conflicts around the world.
Those going can take along a brief reading or their own views on war to share.
Others can show their support just by being present.
It’s suggested that those who find standing difficult should take a folding chair. An umbrella could also be useful in case it rains.
The gardens are alongside Cockpit Path between Denton Road and Langborough Road,
