Paul Clement believes his security as Reading boss has not been affected by the departure of chief executive Ron Gourlay.
The Scot stepped down with immediate effect this week with the club now on the lookout for a new CEO.
Gourlay played a key role in bringing Clement to the Royals in March having previously worked with him at Chelsea.
And while Clement acknowledges the pair had a good relationship, he feels it will not have an impact on his own position.
“No change whatsoever,” said the Reading boss.
“I know the situation that the team are in and I’m as disappointed as anybody that we haven’t done a lot better and we aren’t in a much healthier position in the table.
“But with everything that goes on in and around the team, whether that’s from the media side, the fan side or the executive side, my focus is always on working with the players on the field and that will never change.”

He added: “Change can happen in football.
“We’ve had it already this season with Brian Tevreden leaving and going to Roeselare in Belgium and now we have a situation where Ron goes.
“From my point of view, you wish him all the best in what the next thing is. It’s the second time I’ve worked with him. I worked with him at Chelsea and worked with him here as well.
“I had a good, open relationship with him but my focus, whether Ron is here or not, has always been on working closely with the team. That’s what I’m concentrating on.”
He added: “There’s a hierarchical structure here. When I first came in there are the owners of course but Ron was the chief executive and Brian Tevreden was here.
“More recently I’ve been working very closely with Gianluca (Nani), much more closely than I did with Brian and also much more closely than I did with Ron.
“Ron was more on the business side of the football club and Gianluca’s very much involved in the football side of the football club so that continues on.”
