READING Women were blown away by a stunning individual performance from England international Rachel Daly in what was their penultimate home game of the season.
The Villa forward broke the deadlock in the 14th minute after a quick-fire move down the visitors’ left, and the goalscorer turned provider twice before half-time, setting up both Alisha Lehmann and Kirtsty Hanson to make it 3-0 and ultimately kill the game.
Daly grabbed her second of the game, tapping home from close range in the 55th minute, before completing her hattrick after the Royals failed to clear a routine-looking Mayumi Pacheco through ball.
Grace Moloney 5: Let down by the defenders in front of her. Could not have done a lot more with any of the goals.
Emma Mukandi 4: By no means the worst defender on the day, but could have done better in dealing with the visitors’ fifth.
Diane Caldwell 4: Nowhere to be seen for Lehmann’s goal after flying out of defence and overcommitting. Not a good showing.
Easter Mayi Kith 3: Failed to track her runner for Villa’s first and dispossessed far too easily for the third. Replaced by Woodham at half-time.
Amalie Eikeland 3: Allowed Villa to break down their left with ease in the build up to the opening two goals.
Charlie Wellings 4: Struggled to make much of an impression on the game. Was replaced by Wade early in the second period.
Justine Vanhaevermaet 5: Kept things ticking over and was probably the pick of the midfielders on what was a difficult afternoon for the Royals.
Jade Moore 4: Was left chasing shadows for the hour or so she was on the pitch. Missed a golden opportunity to grab a goal back at 3-0, blazing over at the back post.
Emma Harries 5: Quiet. Didn’t get a lot of joy down Reading’s right, struggling to get the better of the resilient Pacheco.
Rachel Rowe 6: Tried to inject some positive intent into the team. Got a couple of decent strikes away from the range.
Sanne Troelsgaard 5: Had Reading’s best chance of the afternoon, hitting the post soon after her side went 1-0 down. Starved of service throughout.
Substitutes:
Lily Woodham 4: Probably a game too early for the Welshwoman, who struggled after coming on at half-time. Finished the game with her left leg almost entirely strapped.
Lauren Wade 5: Adopted a left midfield role, before dropping into left back. Did relatively well to stabilise things.
Tia Primmer 5: Added a little bit more energy to the Royals’ midfield.
