Police are appealing for witnesses following reports of an assault along the Thames Path late on Saturday morning.
The incident is believed to have taken place at around 11:50am on the footpath behind the Tesco Extra, with officers suggesting the altercation may have occurred near or on a boat in the area.
Authorities are urging anyone who was nearby at the time and may have seen the incident to come forward.
A spokesperson said officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the altercation or who may have relevant information.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101, quoting reference 612 and today’s date.
Police say information from the public could help with their ongoing enquiries.
