THEY were queueing round the block, and all for the sake of a beer or four.
Well, not just any beer … this was the 11th birthday of Finchampstead-based Siren Craft Brew, held on Saturday.
To celebrate, the company created some unique beers in collaboration with other breweries.
The first was with Warehouse Bar, and called Waltzer. This is an imperial milk stout and is a strong 13.5% ABV.
With Rum n Donuts and Brew York they created Champurrado, an 11% imperial Mexican brownie milk stout – a mixture of chocolate, chilli and vanilla.
They also worked with Sierra Nevada to create Torpedo, a 7.2% extra IPA, and with Warehouse Bar for a Barrel Aged Caribbean Chocolate Cake brew.
The event included brewery tours, live music, special anniversary glasses, and street food.
Guests could spin a wheel to win prizes including beer tokens, Siren merchandise and bar blade.
For those who weren’t able to attend, the anniversary beers are available to buy from the company’s website. A special case deal includes a souvenir glass and two snacks.
Tomorrow, the company will see its collaborations go on sale in pubs across the country, and is asking beer drinkers to use #SIREN11 when sharing images on social media.
