The hunt is still on for thieves who reversed a Land Rover into Wokingham Station to steal a cash machine.
Last Wednesday morning, around 2.20am, a side wall at the town centre railway station was smashed by two men driving the vehicle. They left the engine running and put the cash machine into the back of another car, though to be a BMW or an Audi A5.
British Transport Police are appealing for help to try and track down the people behind the audacious theft.
But in the meantime, the station has been made safe and re-opened to the public, as our exclusive photos show.
The building is structurally safe and the large glass panels have been boarded over. This means that people can continue to access the self-service ticket machine just before the station concourse.
Inside you can see the fencing installed to protect the public from the temporary side wall which has been put in place.
Commuters will be relieved to learn that Cafe Destino is still open for business and, of course, The Wokingham Paper is on sale along with national newspapers.
The ticket machines in the station are working, after being raided in a separate incident on Wednesday, June 22 – and the toilets are also open again after being closed for repairs.
Detectives from British Transport Police (BTP) are currently investigating this ram raid and are appealing for witnesses or information.
Anyone with information can contact BTP by calling 0800 40 50 40 or by sending a text to 61016 quoting reference 43 of 29/06/2016.
Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
