KELLY CHAMBERS said her players were “magnificent” as Reading Women drew 2-2 with former WSL 1 leaders Chelsea Ladies.
The Blues arrived at Adams Park with four wins from four, having scored 19 and conceded none.
But Royals more than matched them throughout, taking the lead through Remi Allen before rescuing a point in the dying moments thanks to an own goal.
“The girls worked their socks off,” said manager Chambers.
“They executed a game plan perfectly. Overall the performance was excellent.
“What an advert for women’s football. The game was exciting from start to finish and I think it was a brilliant game.”
She added: “We know what we’re capable of and the girls now believe that because we’ve been delivering it over the last few months.
“We’ve beaten Arsenal last week and now we’ve taken points off Chelsea.
“We want to be competing with the likes of those teams and competing higher up the league.
“I can’t take anything away from the girls, they’ve been magnificent.”

Over 1,000 fans turned out at Adams Park for the draw with Chelsea and even more are expected on Wednesday night when Reading host London Bees at Madejski Stadium (7.30pm).
And Chambers says that while everyone will want to play on the big stage, she has to be sensible with her team selection.
“It’s going to be a difficult one, but for us we need to play the right team that is going to win that game on the night,” she said.
“We need to assess everyone with regards to freshness, injuries and niggles.
“As much as the game is at Madejski on Wednesday, we need to make sure that everyone is right going forward for the next couple of games coming up.”
