Fathers’ Day for me this year
Took place a little late
As for our family gathering
This was a better date.
For me the highlight of the day
Is to have our children here
With grandchildren, great grand ones too
The family grows each year.
They are so good to treat me
In the special way they do.
T’was a time I gave THEM guidance
Now they tell ME what to do!!
It’s good to get together.
To have all the family here.
To realise, just once again,
How much we have to share.
