Reading FC legend Nicky Shorey will appear at a question and answer session in the town this weekend.
Shorey signed for the Royals in 2000 and went on to make more than 300 appearances for the club, most famously helping the club to their first ever top flight promotion as Steve Coppell’s side won a record breaking 106 points in the 2005/06 season as they reached the Premier League.
He played 40 times that season and then went on to make a total of 73 Premier League appearances for the Royals in their two seasons in the top flight.
After playing for Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Fulham and West Brom, Shorey returned for a second spell with Reading in the Premier League in 2012/13 under Brian McDermott.
He played 17 times that season.
Shorey also earned two international caps for England in 2007, becoming the only player to play for England while still playing for Reading.
He will be appearing at a ‘Legends Unveiled’ football q&a at the Purple Turtle on Sunday, November 10 from 1pm-4pm.
Tickets are available for £12.50. For more information, contact 07842 627548 or email markroachonline@yahoo.co.uk
