Reading FC have been linked with a loan move for Arsenal academy prospect Miguel Azeez.
Speculation about Azeez joining the Royals was fueled on social media after the Reading FC official account followed him on Instagram.
Miguel’s older brother, Femi Azeez, is currently in the Reading first-team and made 13 appearances in the Championship last season, scoring twice, in a breakthrough campaign that was blighted by injuries.
Azeez spent the 2021/22 season on loan with League One Portsmouth but was used sporadically and only managed to make six league appearances.
However, the 19-year-old is determined to continue his development and earn his stripes playing first-team football.
Speaking to Football.London, Azeez said: “I want to play the full season in men’s football, wherever that is.
“Whether that’s here, or someone else, it is what it is, but that’s the main goal for me.”
Arsenal’s Hale End academy has produced some impressive stars in recent seasons such as Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe who have both gone on to become pivotal players for both club and country.
Reading have also been linked with Arsenal youngster Omari Hutchinson who is expected to be sent out on loan next season.
