Reading FC will stage a protest once again against current owner Dai Yongge during their home match with Huddersfield Town.
Protest group Sell Before We Dai have arranged numerous protests throughout the last year including a march through town to the stadium, tennis balls on the pitch, banners, placards and digital billboards.
In front of the Sky Sports cameras on Saturday (12.30pm kick-off), fans are being encouraged to hold up red cards, a method which was also used last season.
Last season, fans took to the pitch to get the teams game against Port Vale abandoned but have been discouraged from doing so again due to repercussions which would include points deductions.
A statement from SBWD reads: “We know fans are angry about the future of Reading FC. We are too. We’ve been busy thinking about the best ways of getting our message across this Saturday.
“The fans are keen to back Ruben Selles and the players, focusing lots of their energy into getting behind the team. They have been let down so badly by Dai Yongge, Dai Xiu Li and those around them.
“Match disruption was barely mentioned and most people are against it at this stage. We agree with that view. Fans are keen to make any protest visible to TV cameras.
“After exploring various options, we will be bringing back red cards. We will be focused on handing them out in areas of the ground that will be visible to Sky Sports cameras.
“To those who receive a red card, please raise them in the 81th minute.
“We’re also encouraging everyone to bring their own banners, placards and flags to hold up in the same minute.
“We’re not ruling out other protest ideas in the future, including a walk-out that was frequently mentioned.
“We’ll be sharing more about our future plans next week – including our plans in the media and with politicians.”
