Reading FC transfer target Beryly Lubala has signed for another League One side after previously being pursued by the Royals.
The Royals had weighed up the potential of bringing the former Wycombe Wanderers man to the club, but opted against matching or bettering a contract offer made by Stevenage.
The 27-year-old forward was released by Wycombe this summer after he netted 10 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions last season. Four of those goals came in an EFL Trophy group stage win over Brighton & Hove Albion U21s.
Reading are still very much active in the transfer market and will be looking to add to their squad before the beginning of the League One campaign next month.
Having already made three loan signings and two free transfers, Noel Hunt’s team have addressed some of the areas of their squad that needed strengthening.
However, an area that remains unfilled as of yet is on both wings.
Having missed out on former loanee Chem Campbell, who also joined Stevenage, the Royals do not currently have many options on the wing and first-team manager Noel Hunt is very keen to solve that before Reading start their season on Saturday, August 2nd away at Lincoln City.
Reading are in pre-season action today away to League Two GIllingham (3pm kick-off).
