Reading Under 23’s manager Scott Marshall has departed the club after more than three years at the Royals.
Marshall joined the Royals in September 2018 as manager of the Under 23’s team and took charge of the first team after the dismissal of Paul Clement in December 2018.
He took charge of three first-team games, with a record of one draw and two losses before the club appointed Jose Gomes as their manager at the end of December 2018.
A statement announcing Marshall’s departure on the clubs website stated: ” As Under-23 Head Coach he has made a significant contribution to the development of the young players at the club. Throughout Scott’s employment there has been continued success for the Academy, highlighted by no fewer than eight League debuts and a further five Cup debuts made by Academy players in the Royals first team.
“Scott was also asked to fulfil the role of caretaker manager with the first team in December 2018, before a permanent appointment was made.
“We are grateful for Scott’s contribution over the past three years and would like to wish him the very best for the future.”
