READING ROCKETS held their first ever SEN Basketball camp during February half term.
The club’s programme for children with special educational needs has grown over the past 12 months with coaching in seven local special needs schools and two weekly Satellite clubs.
And they are now working closely with Special Olympics GB, helping increase opportunities for youngsters to compete locally, nationally and internationally.
“This has been something that has been in our planning for the last 12 months,” said Steph Johnson, head of Rockets’ SEN Programme.
“We were actually able to deliver it earlier than planned due to the huge amount of young people we were delivering basketball to throughout the school term.”
