STAFF and residents at Barchester’s Austen House Care Home in Lower Earley enjoyed taking part in a range of activities to raise money for charity.
Armchair zumba sessions, a tea dance, walking, and a cake sale all helped to raise funds for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation
Arturas Repkovas, General Manager at Austen House, said: “We had the most wonderful day.
“It was so lovely to see everyone come together to take part and fundraise.
“Barchester’s Charitable Foundation is a great charity that helps many people in need, particularly lonely older people – a cause very close to our hearts.
“Plus it’s good for our own wellbeing to move as much as we can.
“We want to say a massive thanks to everyone involved.
“We all had so much fun and helped raise vital funds into the bargain.”
Barchester’s Charitable Foundation supports older people and adults living with a disability or mental health problems, helping them to connect or re-connect with others in their local communities.
Last year it supported 160 small groups and charities, and 87 individuals..
To help boost the charity’s coffers this year, staff and residents at Austen House invited family, friends and members of the community to join their Armchair Zumba Class with Delia, followed by a cake sale.
Their combined efforts raised £120.
