WITH next year’s local elections seeing every Wokingham Borough Council seat up for grabs, residents are being urged to check their details on the electoral roll.
The annual canvass has been launched to ensure voters can still go to the polls next May, the first under the new ward boundaries. Next year is also expected to see a general election, which will see new parliamentary constituencies being fought.
Responses have to be back with the council by November, with the new register published in December. These will be by post or email.
Andrew Moulton, returning officer at Wokingham Borough Council, said: “Keep an eye out for important updates from the council. The annual canvass is our way of making sure that the information on the electoral register for every address is accurate and up-to-date.
“To make sure you don’t lose your say at upcoming elections, simply follow the instructions sent to you.
“If you’re not currently registered, your name will not appear in the messages we send. If you want to register, the easiest way is online.”
