QUEEN Anne’s School welcomed the Rt Hon Robert Halfon, former Minister of State for Skills, Apprenticeships, and Higher Education.
He was at the independent Reading girls’ school to speak with Sixth Form students about his inspiring career and life journey.
Mr. Halfon, who has served in numerous influential roles, including Minister for Apprenticeships and Skills and MP for Harlow, shared his unique insights into life as an MP.
Reflecting on his journey, he talked about his childhood ambition, disability and political achievement.
He discussed the challenges and triumphs of his career, including serving during the COVID-19 pandemic and how back-benchers can truly influence history.
The session concluded with time for Q&A, allowing students to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of the workings of parliament, how Robert represented his constituency, and the resilience required for such roles.
