A COMMUNITY athletics group used the Hallowe’en festive period to help raise money for a worthy cause.
Members of Shinfield Running Club took to the streets of neighbouring Spencers Wood for a training jog, but made sure to stop off at the village’s Hallowe’en trail’s various spots.

In conjunction with Capel Lane Pre-School, this year’s trail set out to raise £500 for a new automated external defibrillator for the Spencers Wood Pavilion.

Residents showcased their artistic skills by conjuring up some impressive creations, including Shrek, the Grazeley Guillotine and the Cat in the Hat, as well as their generosity, smashing the initial fundraising target. An impressive £647 had been raised at the time of writing.
