WOKINGHAM residents will see costumed runners competing for prizes later this month, when a Santa Dash in the town will raise money for two children’s charities.
Starting at Luckley Road, bearded and red-and-white suited runners will be able to choose from either a 3km or 5km race.
The two routes will take runners along tracks as well as muddy parts of the nearby woods, so onlookers may notice sensible trainers and running gear under all the Santa costumes.
Prizes will be awarded for the fastest person in different age groups and there will be a raffle with each entry.
The event is raising money for Dreamflight, a UK charity that takes children with a serious illness or disability on holiday, as well as Parents and Children Together, Reading based adoption charity and family support provider.
Santas will arrive at 9am, with The Santa Dash starting at 9.30am, on Saturday, December 21.
