IT’S Star Wars Day on Saturday … May the fourth be with you. And to celebrate, it is returning to the bigger screen.
Showcase Cinemas has picked four modern classic movies for a special deal on its large format XPlus screens.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the first Star Wars prequel, The Phantom Menace, with favourite characters such as Jar Jar Binks. So, on May 4, the Winnersh cinema is screening the movie.
Also being screened is 2001: A Space Odyssey, which needs little introduction, as well as Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway vehicle Interstellar.
The fourth film in the quartet sees Leonardo DiCaprio team up with Cillian Murphy for Inception.
All four films will be available at Showcase in XPlus experience, which features a supersized, giant screen, with next generation projection. This, the company says, gives crystal-clear definition and brilliant pictures.
It is fused with a Dolby Atmos sound system it says delivers a fully immersive, powerful, and dramatic listening experience.
The tickets are available for £11.49, and £10.49 for students, seniors, and children – meaning guests will be able to save up to 40%.
Jon Dixon, UK Marketing Director at Showcase Cinemas said: “We’re really excited to be sharing such a fantastic offer across our incredible XPlus screens nationwide.
“Not only do our customers get to see their favourite flashback films return to the cinema, they’ll also get to watch them in the way they were meant to be seen – on the biggest of big screen, with XPlus offering an incredible immersive blockbuster experience.”
