THERE’S magic in the air of a Bracknell-based shopping centre this half-term as The Lexicon offers some family fun.
Its popular Seedling Sprite Trail is returning to Princess Square from Saturday.
Young visitors can create a Seedling Sprite from pinecones, twigs, and other natural materials with guidance from the sprite helpers, or they can create a colouring masterpiece, to take away.
The five Sprites – Little Thistle, Poppy-Go-Lucky, Pinecone Fairy, Old Acorn, and Bluebell – will be present on this weekend (22-23) and next (29-30), as well as Wednesday, October 26, and Thursday, October 27, with six 30-minutes sessions between 11am and 4pm.
There are SEND-friendly sessions at 11am on the Saturdays, as well as Wednesday and Friday, October 28.
Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon says: “The five Seedling Sprites were such a hit in the summer, that we thought it would be great to invite them back to the town centre as inspiration for an autumnal arts and crafts workshop.”
And Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration at Bracknell Forest Council, said: “Another jam-packed October half-term with free activities for families to do in the town centre.
“I can’t wait to see the Sprites again after their first visit this summer during the Bracknell Forest Festival event.”
There will also be workshops from Little Muddy Boots, a gardening and nature club for children, on Friday, October 28 at 11am, 11.40am, 2.10pm and 2.50pm.
These sessions will include planting acorns to grow your own oak tree, forest school inspired autumn tree art craft and storytelling.
Hannah Brewer, group leader and founder of Little Muddy Boots, said: “We are excited to be bringing a taste of our unique garden and nature club experience to the children of Bracknell.
“We hope through our Seedling Sprites activities, we will inspire lots of half term outdoor play, and time spent as a family making memories.”
Places cost £3, and must be booked in advance.
