The away side added some vital runs on the board as Santosh Kundar remained not out and added 41 runs to the score, while Ali Jalil took two more wickets at the end of the batting order to take his tally to three as Shinfield’s innings ended on 190 after 38.3 overs.

Shinfield opened their bowling attack with an early wicket as Michael Sheridan was reduced lbw from the bowling of Santosh Kundar having contributed just two runs.

Despite opening batsman Ali Jalil racking up 30 runs before being caught out, Farley were struggling in the top order as Bommidi took a further wickets to remove Akeesh Khokar for six runs and then William Nash-Wortham for 11 runs.

With Farley in danger of losing the match, a tremendous innings from Duncan Greeff helped to get their run chase back on track. He was partnered by Gregory Coney who added 23 runs before Bommidi dismissed him to take his fourth wicket of the day.

But with Greeff still at the crease, the hosts still had hope of chasing down the score of 186. They increased the run rate with the overs quickly depleting but after Greeff was eventually removed for 72 to dent Farley’s hopes of a victorious outcome.
