Shinfield Rangers Football Club celebrated its 50th birthday at the weekend with a fete and presentation day.

The event which was hosted at Spencers Wood Pavillion and saw hundreds of the club’s players and families attend a day filled with activities including a tombola, bouncy castle, raffle, coconut shy, mini golf and more.

There was also a special presentation made to retiring club chairman Ray Barclay who was gifted the honour of lifetime honorary chairman membership after 13 years with the club.

A representative from the football club said: “On behalf of the committee I wanted to thank you all for making it such a tremendous success. Success based upon the fact we raised a fair few quid for the club, the smiles and great atmosphere, along with positive feedback we received throughout the day.

“A huge thank you to all of the Shinfield committee, volunteers, helpers, coaches, managers and of course the kids, which is what this is all about.”
