Plans have been submitted that, if approved, will see a former bank in Woodley transformed into five separate retail units.
Agents for the wonders have submitted plans to Wokingham borough council for the former Nat West building on Crokhamwell Road.
In documents supporting the application, they wrote: “The proposed subdivision of the vacant former bank into five Class E units represents a sustainable, policy-compliant, and economically beneficial development.
“It will: • Bring a long-vacant building back into active use, support local businesses, increase footfall and vitality, and enhance the appearance and function of the local centre
“The associated shopfronts, security shutters, and parking railings are justified, necessary, and appropriate.”
A consultation intop the plans remains open until March 6.
