Cookie the cat, who was featured by Wokingham Today in August, has finally found her fur-ever home.
The 16-year-old deaf moggie had been in the care of Cats Protection for almost nine months. She’s now been adopted by Timea Carlo.
Timea told Wokingham Today: “Cookie was a little shy at first to explore the place, but is feeling more and more confident every day.
“She seems to have found her favourite spots in one of our comfy armchairs, and also on a windowsill.
Cookie had arrived with the Wokingham & Bracknell branch on December 9, 2022, and went to her new home in the first week of September. The average time that cats are currently in care across the Cats Protection Network is 46 days.
Despite being deaf, during her time in foster care she delighted her fosterer with the variety of ways she demonstrates what she needs.
Volunteer Lynne Pothecary said: “Cookie is one of the sweetest, most gentle cats we have had in care, but it’s her intelligence that has really endeared her to us.
“Like most cats she is very vocal if she has a complaint, but she also communicates in plenty of other ways.”
Timea added: “We’re very happy to have Cookie here to enjoy her retirement years with us. She’s such a sweet girl and a lovely companion.”
