The latest weather forecasts have been made available and it now looks like Wokingham could be in for two days of snow this week.
Yesterday, the Met Office released a weather warning for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning – it thinks up to four inches (10cm) could fall, depending on where the snow settles.
The forecasts still show Wokingham being hit with snow and rain showers, but a new forecast has emerged showing that there could be snow falling on Thursday afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to be just above freezing, but wind chill will make it feel colder. As a result, the snow may not settle and no weather warnings have yet been issued.
But the Met Office thinks snow will fall from around 3pm on Thursday, January 31, and continue until late evening.
Snow is very difficult to forecast. It depends on certain atmospheric conditions and the Met Office can’t be certain exactly where the snow will fall.
Some online forecasters are saying that Wokingham and the south east could see that 10cm tomorrow but others suggest that the borough could just see rain.
In short, no one knows for certain what will happen until the weather arrives from France.
The French Met Office, MeteoFrance, has called the snow storm Storm Gabriel and hits the continent in the afternoon.
