A MONTHLY community event has moved location to help accommodate its growing usership.
Spencers Wood repair cafe, which was previously held at the village hall, will now take place at Lambs Lane Primary School, from Sunday, August 20.
Organiser Billie Bachra said: “Due to the fantastic support that we haven received over the past 15 months, we needed a larger hall to host our volunteers and visitors safely. Lambs Lane School will provide us with the hall and improved parking facilities.
“Our ethos is to reduce, reuse, recycle so we will not be charging. The repair cafe is run by volunteers and there are no paid staff.
“We will be hiring the school hall and plan to work with engaging young people to help and learn from the repair cafe so do appreciate donations.”
Visitors are able to observe and learn as their items are being mended, but also have the opportunity to browse through a selection of books or enjoy some refreshments, with an on-site cafe serving teas, coffees, soft drinks and cakes.
The sessions take place on the third Sunday of the month, with the August 20 session running from 10am-1pm.
