Rugby World Cup winner, Jonny Wilkinson joined Parkrunners and Parkwalkers at the Bracknell run on Saturday May 3.
Jonny is a Vitality Parkrunners Ambassador and was there particularly to encourage Parkwalkers to participate.
His attendance did the trick and the event had a record turnout of 526 participants.
The Bracknell Event Director, Andy Scott, commented: “We are delighted at today’s record turnout and that Jonny’s attendance has contributed so much to the positive energy of the event.”
Parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. Parkrun is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning. junior parkrun is 2k, dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families, every Sunday morning.
Everyone is welcome to come along.
Locally, Parkruns take place at Dinton Pastures, California Park, Woodley and Reading as well as at Great Hollands Park in Bracknell.
