The Station Tap on Station Road has reopened following a six-figure investment, marking the next chapter in the pub’s rich history.
Originally built as a hotel when the Wokingham railway line was built in 1849, the site has been a staple of the community, serving guests for more than 175 years.
The investment has made the popular bar the new home of pub sport in Wokingham, with major sports channels shown on the Station Tap’s many HD TV screens.
The renovations have been crafted to aid the pub’s goal of being a welcoming space for people in Wokingham who are looking for an unforgettable night out or a tasty bite to eat.
A new dance floor has also been installed, bringing the party to Wokingham with high-end lighting production combining with a state-of-the-art audio system to create the ultimate soundtrack to your night out.
Visitors are greeted with a vibrant splash of colour, thanks to a brand-new mural painted at the front of the pub by talented artist Ollie Terry.
The pub’s large beer garden has been enhanced with a new pergola, creating the perfect place to enjoy some fresh air in all seasons with the pergola’s heated system.
The renovations have meant that the bar’s capacity has now increased to 400, an increase of 50 that will allow the Station Tap to realise its potential as one of the best bars in the area.
Adrian Grist, general manager of the Station Tap, said: “These renovations align with Stonegate Group’s commitment to keep improving and innovating, meaning we can give our guests the best possible experience at our pub.
“We want this investment to make our pub the go-to destination in Wokingham, not only for enjoying the best sporting action on our big screens, but also for enjoying delicious food and drink at great prices.
“Our unmatched selection of world beers, ciders, and cocktails is the best in the area, and we can’t wait to welcome both new and returning guests to experience the fresh new look we’ve been working so hard on behind the scenes.”
A new weekly events schedule has been announced, beginning with a fun trivia quiz on Mondays, games night on Tuesdays, and 40p wings and rock ‘n’ roll bingo on Wednesdays.
Thursday kicks off the fun with craft and cocktail night, while Friday and Saturday nights turn up the energy with live DJs playing.
The weekend wraps up in style with themed brunches every Sunday, with a side of karaoke.
