Two men have been charged following a disturbance at a football match in Reading on Saturday, police have said.
The incident took place at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, when a number of individuals entered the pitch. An altercation then occurred, during which a steward was reported to have been injured.
Police said two men were arrested at the stadium and charged the following day.
Reilly Wood, 25, of Knyveton Road, Bournemouth, has been charged with entering a playing area and criminal damage. He is due to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court on 24 February 2026.
Brandon Bashforth, 28, of High Street, Grimethorpe, Barnsley, has been charged with entering a playing area, a Section 5 public order offence and assault by beating. He is scheduled to appear at the same court on 25 February 2026.
Police said they were aware of footage circulating online relating to the incident and confirmed it was being investigated.
A spokesperson said ensuring the safety of everyone attending or working at football matches remained a priority and that any reported incidents would be responded to and investigated.
