HAWKEDON PRIMARY SCHOOL emerged victorious at the annual Wokingham School Games at Sonning Hockey Club.
12 teams of children from years five and six took part in the 6-a-side competition with Hawkedon overcoming Robert Piggott Junior in the final, while Shinfield St Mary’s CE Junior claimed bronze with medals presented by Joel Forrester, managing director of Hockey for Heroes.
Hawkedon and Robert Piggott will now go on to represent Wokingham at the Berkshire School Games at Bisham Abbey later this month.
“It was just fantastic to see so many children enjoying playing hockey,” said event co-ordinator Chris Manning.
“Matches were highly competitive and played in the right spirit.”
