TO MARK International Women’s Day, a special networking event was held in Reading for Thames Valley businesswomen.
Organised by Girl Tribe Gang Reading’s Rachel Bradley, more than 45 women came together to network and celebrate achievements of women in and outside of the office.
The evening was held at Fora, home to Girl Tribe Gang’s monthly meet-ups, and was one element of a week of events centred around International Women’s Day and part of the #FORAHER campaign.
It included a panel discussion around the theme of Balance For Better. Taking part were Rachel Jane who runs the Muddy Stilettos blog; Joyce Connor, a local make-up artist and skincare specialist; Kay Glover, a Berkshire-based Beauty PR; and Amy Luddington, HR Comms Manager at Oracle.
The discussion was facilitated by Tamsin Napier Munn, host of The Women in Business Awards.
Money raised from the event went to The Girl’s Network, a mentoring charity supporting girls between 16-19 and inspiring them to reach their full potential.
Ms Bradley said: “Girl Tribe Gang is committed to supporting women at all stages of their working life, whether it’s a woman who has already launched her own business, a woman aspiring to or a woman who works the 9-5 but combines it with a side hustle.
“Celebrating International Women’s Day gives us an opportunity to share a special moment, to celebrate all that we are, to swap stories and experiences but most importantly to come together, face-to-face, to support and be there for each other.”
The next Girl Tribe Gang meeting will be on Wednesday, April 24.
