Performing on the Saturday is dynamic 10-piece band The Average Chalky White Band.
With 14 years of experience behind them, the group will return to the festival for a third time with up-tempo tracks designed to get the crowd on their feet.
John White – sax and vocals for the band – said: “The last time we played at Wokingham Festival was enormous fun.
“There was a great vibe at the event and the reaction from the crowd was fantastic.”
Commenting on the efforts of festival organiser Stan Hetherington, the musician added: “The atmosphere at the festival is always positive. “The stage and set up is very professional and Stan does a great job at organising the whole thing.”
The Average Chalky White Band’s set will include songs by greats Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison and the Rolling Stones.
And it’s unique full horn section is an aspect White highlights as key to the variety of styles the group can perform.
He said: “The horn section allows us to perform Soul and Commitments-esque numbers as well as enabling us to write songs ourselves.”
The saxist – who has played the instrument since his 30s – added: “This is the type of band I’ve always dreamed of playing in”.
“Playing in a 10-piece band is an incredible experience, especially the part that involves performing with musicians who have been playing all their lives.
“Our trombone player for example learnt to play during his time as an army bandsman in the forces.”
The Average Chalky White Band’s set will run from 8pm on Saturday.
