The Emmbrook School has celebrated a ‘remarkable’ set of A-Level results with the proportion of A* and A grades almost tripled from the previous year.
With an overall pass rate of 100%, 94% achieved A*-D, 81% A*-C, 59% A*-B, 32% A*-A amd 12% A*.
Nick McSweeney, Headteacher, said: “This is a phenomenal set of results for our students. In what has been a brilliant Olympic summer, our students have outperformed our previous best results set in another Olympic year, 2012.
“This is a very special achievement indeed. A number of students secured A* grades across the board, and we can see significant value-added progress for students across the ability range. We are overjoyed for each and every student celebrating today and incredibly proud of them all. This step forward in results is a testament to the relentless hard work of our students and teachers as we continue on our journey to being an utterly exceptional school.”
David Constable, Head of Sixth Form, added: “This year group’s results are outstanding and the culmination of hard work and dedication, resulting in a record-breaking set of results for the school. Over the past two years, the class of 2024 has been a delight to work with.
“They have approached their studies with care, attention, and a determination to succeed, which has been reflected in the excellent grades they have achieved. I could not be prouder of their accomplishments as a year group and their individual successes. We wish them all the best in the future and look forward to hearing about their continued achievements. Congratulations to the whole year group.”
Pete Whitehouse, Assistant Headteacher responsible for Post-16, said: “I am thrilled that the class of 2024 has achieved our best A-level results in years, with significant increases in the percentages of all the top grades.
“This outstanding achievement reflects the unwavering dedication and relentless effort of our students from day one. Their exceptional grades are a testament to their hard work, focus, and determination. I couldn’t be prouder of their well-deserved success. Congratulations to all for a job exceptionally well done.”
