WE START this week’s play list with an ending. No, it’s not a wibbly wobbly timey wimey nonsense, it’s all to do with one of the new entries.

Rila’s Edge has released a new single called The End, and we think it’s brilliant.

Making their debut this week is Gareth Ainsworth’s band, Cold Blooded Hearts. The QPR manager’s group have released their debut album, and it’s another goodie.

You can hear these tracks, and eight others, when you tune in to our Spotify playlist. It’s free to listen to.

To hear this week’s selection, simply head to https://bit.ly/rawsoundstoday and enjoy the music.

There is also a Facebook page and group chat that bands and music fans can tap into. You can search for RaW Sounds Today and it will come up.

Rila’s Edge – The End

It’s another new single from one of the bands of the moment. It’s a short song but with a melody and performance that perfectly conveys the feeling in the lyrics about how tough it is to end a relationship. ‘I know I need to go but my heart wants to stay’ sings Alfie Harris as the rest of the band provide the feeling and power to complement another excellent vocal performance.

With a string of brilliant singles we can’t wait to see them live at Wokingham Festival when they headline the Wokingham Music Club Stage on Sunday, August 27 – https://www.rilasedge.com/

Cold Blooded Hearts – Worth Waiting

Did you know that QPR manager Gareth Ainsworth lives in the area and fronts a classic rock- influenced rock band? Clearly, he’s a man of many talents and the band, Cold Blooded Hearts, have just released their debut album, The Cold Light of Day, from which this song is taken.

It’s a good one.

It’s a strong album with Gareth’s powerful vocals backed by solid musicianship from the rest of the band. With guitar riffs, solid musicianship, Gareth’s powerful vocals and good songs, it’s worth a listen – https://www.cherryred.co.uk/artist/the-cold-blooded-hearts/

Los Fastidios – Tender Hooligan

Here’s a band from Italy who has played in Reading for Club Velocity and they are back on August 8 at Reading Face Bar. They describe themselves as Street Ska and Punk rejects and they create fun exciting records like this. It’s their new single and it features Elisa Dixan on vocals – https://www.facebook.com/losfastidios

Trim – Doll House

Trim is a band based around local musician Chris Trim who are about to release their first full studio album, on August 4. It’s called Resolve, and it’s full of well-produced quality pop/rock songs like this one – https://www.trimmusic.co.uk/

Regent – Here We Go Again

Here’s an excellent single from the Southampton indie rockers who recently played at Reading’s The Purple Turtle – https://regentrockbandofficial.com/

Isabella Coulstock – Trouble

Isabella recently visited the area to perform at Wokingham Music Club and then a few days later she was on the stage at The O2 Arena supporting The Who.

This is her debut single – https://www.isabellamusic.co.uk/

Darcey Hope – Maybe Tomorrow

Darcey is a wonderful singer-songwriter who will be supporting the excellent Ben Marwood at his Rising Sun Arts Centre Club Velocity gig in Reading this Friday. This is her new single – https://darceyhope.com/

Gemma Rogers – New World Order

Gemma has become a favourite in the area following her visits to perform brilliant shows for Club Velocity. Here’s her new single. It’s a wonderful summer pop song and it has a social conscience too – https://linktr.ee/gemmarogersmusic

Third Lung – It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘N ’Roll)

Third Lung will be live at Brewdog in Reading on September 16 – http://thirdlungband.com/

Michael Burns-Peake – 23

A great new single from the singer-songwriter who opens Wokingham Festival’s Main Stage in August – https://www.facebook.com/MichaelBPMusic
