A borough gym has raised more than £3,000 for charity through fitness and community spirit.
THE SHREDQUARTERS Twyford hosted two fundraising events to support people with cancer, and older borough residents.
The first saw three Shredquarters Twyford teams take part in a Battle Cancer event, a fitness challenge that brought together gyms from across the region to raise money through competition and community spirit.
The teams raised £1,225 for My Cancer My Choices, a Charvil charity that provides complementary therapies and emotional support to people living with cancer.
The organisation helps patients manage the physical and emotional side effects of treatment, offering comfort, confidence, and a sense of control during a difficult time.
“We’re so proud of our members who pushed themselves on the day – not just in fitness, but in compassion and commitment to helping others,” said Karan Khela from Shredquarters.
The second event was a Charity Diwali Dinner in aid of Age Concern Twyford & District Social Club.
Held in Haweli in Twyford, it raised £2,130 which will help the Age Concern club continue its work supporting older residents in Twyford and the surrounding villages; bringing people together, tackling loneliness, and keeping local community activities thriving.
“It was an evening full of community spirit, great food, and generosity – a true reflection of the warmth and heart of Twyford,” said Karan.
“We’re incredibly grateful to our members, local supporters, and everyone who contributed.
“These two events highlight what makes The Shredquarters Twyford so special – a community that lifts people up, both inside and outside the gym.”
