Thames Valley-based law firm Blandy & Blandy has become an affiliate member of Air Ambulances UK (AAUK), the national charity that supports the lifesaving work of the UK’s air ambulance charities.
Air Ambulances UK is the national charity supporting the lifesaving work of the UK’s air ambulance charities, enabling them to save even more lives every day.
Air ambulance crews bring the emergency department to patients who have suffered a life threatening or life changing trauma or medical emergency, providing advanced critical care to save lives.
Blandy & Blandy provides a full range of legal services to national, regional and local charities based across the country and is one of a relatively small number of law firms outside of London to have a dedicated team highly experienced in acting for clients in the charity and third sectors.
Nick Burrows, head of charities and education at Blandy & Blandy, said: “We are delighted to become an affiliate member of Air Ambulances UK, having recently attended events organised by AAUK, including the charity’s national conference and the annual golf day.
“We are experienced in providing a full range of legal services to air ambulance charities across the country, who, collectively, perform a vital, life-saving service to over 45,000 each year.”
Lindsay Boswell, interim CEO of Air Ambulances UK, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Blandy & Blandy as an affiliate member of Air Ambulances UK.
“Their specialist understanding of the charity sector, and in particular the air ambulance community, is already proving incredibly valuable.
“By working alongside expert partners like Blandy & Blandy, we can continue to strengthen the support we offer to air ambulance charities across the UK, helping them to save even more lives every day.”
Blandy & Blandy recently announced that Thames Valley Air Ambulance, also a client of the firm, will become one of its two adopted charities for the next two years.
Amanda McLean, CEO of Thames Valley Air Ambulance, said: “Thames Valley Air Ambulance has been supported by Blandy & Blandy for more than 10 years, and their legal expertise has been invaluable across our organisation.
“As our trusted legal advisers, Blandy & Blandy consistently prioritise our needs, taking the time to develop a deep understanding of our organisational structure and the nuances of our operations.
“Their support has spanned a wide range of matters, including the lease for our expanded operations and education space, contracts for long-standing fundraising models, a huge variety of employment matters (including TUPE) and agreements relating to TV content.
“Their proactive and thoughtful approach means we can focus on delivering critical care, knowing our external legal needs are in expert hands.
“We are deeply grateful for their continued partnership and are delighted to have recently been selected as one of Blandy & Blandy’s adopted charities.”
