Emergency works to repair a sewer have forced a busy Wokingham town centre road to close.
A team from Thames Water are currently on site at Wiltshire Road between its junctions with Rectory Road and Wiltshire Drive to allow the collapsed sewer to be repaired.
And they come as South East Water finishes repairs on a burst water main that was leaking into the carriageway on the same spot.
During the works there are two diversions in place: southbound traffic should go along Warren House Road, Keephatch Road, Binfield Road, A329 London Road, Peach Street, Broad Street and then Rectory Road.
Northbound traffic should go along Wiltshire Road, London Road, Binfield Road, Keephatch Road and Warren House Road.
The work started yesterday and the contractors have a permit lasting up to 21 days, should it be needed.
