Young Reading talent Caylan Vickers is set to complete a move to Premier League Brighton on transfer deadline day.
With the club in a financial crisis, current owner Dai Yongge seems intent on extracting as much value from the club as possible before entering takeover negotiations.
Having previously been linked with an audacious move to Real Madrid, Vickers looks set to join Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton team.
So far this window Reading have sold three academy products, Nelson Abbey, Tom Holmes and Tom McIntyre who have all left on permanent deals, while Holmes returns on loan.
Left-back Nesta Guinness-Walker has also departed on a loan deal to join Stevenage.
19-year-old forward Vickers has impressed this campaign since breaking into the first-team fold with the Royals.
He has made a total of 13 appearances in all competitions and has netted twice.
Vickers is set to undergo a medical with Brighton before the transfer is finalised.
