WOKINGHAM residents will soon be able to enjoy food from two new businesses in the town centre.
A Japanese food restaurant and an Asian supermarket will both be opening their doors.
Japanese restaurant, Sen Ichie, is located at 49 Peach Street.
It will launch on Saturday, February 18, and is from the team behind Sen Sushi, on Wokingham Road at the Three Tuns crossroads.
Its sister site is a takeaway with some space to eat-in, and also offers Japanese food including ramen noodles, tempura, sushi, temaki hand rolls, and sashimi.
In Japanese, Sen Ichi is a boy’s name that means first son of Sen.
Elsewhere in Wokingham town, we understand that a new Asian grocery store is planned for 18 Denmark Street.
This will be sited in the currently empty unit next to Rossini Restaurant. It will be the first such store in the town centre and complement businesses such as Phil’s Good Food.
Asian supermarkets have been growing in popularity in recent years, and in January last year HK Superstore opened in Woodley’s Crockhamwell Road shopping precinct
