Twyford and Wargrave have said farewell to their Roman Catholic priest who is moving to St Joseph’s church at Tilehurst.
Parishioners at St Thomas More and Our Lady of Peace churches held a gathering with tea, coffee and cake in their parish hall to thank Father Jude Mbonu and wish him well.
Deacon Michael Jackson presented him with an anthology of poems on behalf of parishioners. Father Jude received other gifts as well.
“We thanked him for all his work with us, for his enthusiasm and for reinvigorating our parish community,” said Deacon Jackson afterwards.
Father Jude is being replaced at Twyford and Wargrave by Father Anthony Glaysher.
