THERE was plenty of good cheer at this year’s Twyford Beer Festival.
More than 3,000 pint purveyors enjoyed a wide range of beverages, great food and some of the best sounds in Berkshire.
The three-day event also raised a staggering £15,000 for the main charity, Orchid. It was the biggest donation yet in the festival’s 14-year history for the men’s cancer charity.
Organiser Ian Wisdom said: “We were delighted to support a number of other local charities who accepted our invitation to run their own stalls for free.
“In addition, we also welcomed local breweries who provide excellent beer. It is encouraging to see that brewing in Berkshire is alive and well.”
Ian and several friends are planning a pub crawl to Orchid’s London office on Thursday, July 6 to hand over the cheque – and enjoy a few beers along the way.
