COULD cows’ burps hold the key to tackling climate change?
The University of Reading is inviting children aged 7-12 to its Spring Children’s Lecture on Thursday, May 4, to find out how changes to traditional livestock and farming can help the planet.
Entitled ‘Wind of Change: Curbing cows burps to fight climate change’, Prof Chris Reynolds will discuss how feeding cows different diets can lower the emission of greenhouse gases, such as methane.
On the week of King Charles III’s coronation, the talk will also touch on the possibility of cows being trained to burp the national anthem.
The lecture takes place from 4.30pm-5.30pm, with doors opening at 4pm.
Admission is free, but booking is essential.
