Anthony Toby Homes Trust provides a unique package of care for people with learning disabilities to live together in a group home, enabling them to enjoy normal and fulfilled lives as part of the local community, experiencing the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. Our home is based in central Wokingham.

We are looking for a new Treasurer who will sit on our board of Trustees.

As a member of the Trustee Board the Treasurer has particular responsibility for overseeing the accounting function of Antony Homes.

Duties include: Producing year-end audit files for annual audit and end-of-year accounts, liaising with auditors, producing quarterly accounts for the board to review, authorising online payments and other duties.

Our trustee meetings are normally held monthly, which you would be expected to attend. We are looking for someone who has the necessary financial experience, but also someone who cares about what our charity does and the people we help.

At My Cancer My Choices, we’re dedicated to enabling and empowering people with cancer by providing complementary therapies to relieve the side effects of cancer and its treatment.

By being a volunteer and joining our award-winning team, you become an integral part of this mission.

You will make a positive impact by enhancing the well-being of those living with cancer and developing your knowledge and skills in a supportive environment. We are looking for several new volunteers; Volunteer Welcomers and Meeters and Greeter at Royal Berkshire Hospital, the Newbury Cancer Centre and our HQ in Charvil.

We are also looking for Volunteer Therapists who can deliver the following treatments or treatments: acupuncture, reflexology, massage, mindfulness, reiki and yoga.

If you are interested in helping with any of the above, please do get in touch to find out more.

Do you like being part of a team, getting fresh air and helping people in need?

If so, then the Green ‘n’ Tidy gardening scheme could be the volunteer role for you! Green ‘n’ Tidy provides a basic gardening service for elderly and disabled residents of Wokingham Borough who cannot maintain their own properties, do not have local family support and/or lack the financial resources to employ commercial companies.

This project does not compete with established gardening businesses as we are a charity and the team of volunteers provides basic gardening, including lawn mowing, hedge trimming and weeding, to vulnerable people in need.

To help far more clients across Wokingham Borough, we are expanding our scheme. To be able to do this, we need more help.

We are looking for volunteers to help an average of one morning per week, although we can be flexible with this, if you can only help two or three mornings per month for example.

We are currently looking for more volunteers to join our teams on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Teams garden in different locations across the Borough, so having your own transport would be highly beneficial.

If you are interested in any of these roles or would like to discuss volunteering in general, please get in touch with our Volunteer Services Manager, Helena Badger on 0118 977 0749 or email [email protected].

To see all of volunteering roles, please visit www.volunteerwokinghamborough.org.uk

Date for your diary – our next Volunteer Recruitment Fair will be taking place at Lower Earley Library on Tuesday, April 16, from 10am-noon.

Pop down and meet local charities and have an informal chat about how you can get involved.
